In theory, cleaning is a simple task: put things away where they belong and wipe down surfaces. In practice, it can be really difficult to get yourself motivated especially if you don’t have a good system in place. In this blog post, we will give you some tips on how to make cleaning less of a hassle and more of a routine that you look forward to completing each week!

I know you’re tired but think of the amount of effort you put into doing nice things for other people. Want to be happier and less stressed? Then don’t you think you deserve to spend your effort on your own self, too?

You know that good feeling you have when everything is neat and organised? You deserve that feeling. You deserve to be able to find things you need without running around like a headless chicken. You deserve to be comfortable and relaxed in your own home. You deserve to feel like your need are being met, like you’re being taken care of. You deserve all of that, and more.

Don’t clean your house because you HAVE TO do it. Clean your house because YOU DESERVE A NICE HOUSE.

  • One of the biggest obstacles to overcome when it comes to cleaning is feeling like you don’t even know where to start. This can be especially true if your home is cluttered or if you haven’t cleaned in a while. A good way to combat this feeling is to create a cleaning schedule for yourself. Dedicate certain days of the week to specific tasks, such as vacuuming on Mondays and doing a deep clean of the kitchen on Wednesdays. Having a schedule will help you to not feel overwhelmed by the thought of cleaning your entire house all at once.

  • Another tip for making cleaning less daunting is to set yourself up for success by having all of the supplies you need in a convenient place. Invest in a good quality cleaning caddy or bucket and stock it with all of the essentials, such as a dustpan and brush, glass cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, and paper towels. This way, you won’t have to go hunting for supplies every time you need to clean something.
  • Put on some sick beats (or a podcast if that’s your thing): Crank up the volume and let yourself get lost in the rhythm (or talking) as you tidy up your living space. Before you know it, you’ll be done with your cleaning tasks and can enjoy the rest of your day or evening. 

Finally, remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day and your home doesn’t need to be spotless all the time. Give yourself grace when it comes to cleaning and don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day or two here and there. Just pick up where you left off and keep going!
